Very nice and rare 1974 Moto Guzzi 750 S just arrived for sale.
Only 948 Moto Guzzi 750 S have been built during a little more than one year between 1974 and beginning of 1975. The 750 S is an evolution of the famous V7 Sport. The main visible difference are the front Brembo disk brakes which considerably improve braking power compared to the V7 Sport drum brakes and the color schemes (black and green striped like this one or black and orange/red striped).
Although the 750 S was a quite fast machine it was more touring/comfort oriented than the direct Italian competitors like Ducati and Laverda. The factory marketed also a racing kit composed of a performance camshaft, 36 mm carburetors (30 mm original), a different exhaust and a close ratio gearbox which was said to raise the maximum speed to 213 km / h.
In the middle of 1975 the 750 S has been replaced by the 750 S3 which had the same aesthetics but was fitted with a "mellowed" engine as well as an integral braking system.
